Chartwell Derby workshop LED upgrade case study

INUI are delighted with their recent refurbishment for the Chartwell Derby Workshop LED upgrade – Pride Park Derby.  The Workshop had experienced a good result with its previous lighting that was carried-out just over 6 years ago. This was using PLL 80 and 55-watt Florescent fittings incorporating daylight dimming sensors.

A site survey noted the existing lighting was of 400-watt and 330-watt PLL Florescent lamps. This was adequate for the workshops needs but due to the life of the fittings the maintenance was becoming more of an issue.

Chartwell have always prided themselves on being at the forefront within their industry and the workshop lighting is no exception.  The MD knew it was time to progress forward and requested the assistance of INUI LED. INUI put together both a design LED lighting project for the workshop.

The requirement's for our client was to reduce energy consumption and improve the LUX levels throughout the Workshop. Another important factor for Chartwell was to reduce their Carbon Foot Print.

Working closely with our client and listening carefully to their needs, INUI put together the lighting design. A timetable was drawn up for the installation to ensure the workshops daily activities could continue as normal. The installation was completed without interruption from our team.

The scheme used our LED Modular 150 range in 5000k Natural Daylight White colour.  The installation was on a like for like basis.

The original LUX levels was between 480 and 641 depending on where this reading was taken from.

On completion of the installation, the average readings throughout the Workshop was 1095 LUX. The original running costs for this area based on the electricity costs was just over £9,800.00 pa. including maintenance cost.

The LED installation reduced these running cost to £3,100.00 pa. This gave a saving of around £6,700.00 pa. and an ROI of just over 2.1 years when installations costs were included.
